John O’Dell, ACA, CCA, CCP
John O’Dell & Associates
John has over 25 years’ experience in the transportation industry specializing in cargo legal liability claims, cargo loss prevention, cargo security and insurance. John is the Executive Director of the Certified Claims Professional Accreditation Council (CCPAC, Inc.). He also provides consulting services to transportation and logistics companies nationwide on various issues including cargo legal liability matters. John currently serves as a Director on the national Transportation Arbitration Board (TAB), Board Member of the Transportation Loss Prevention & Security Association. John retired from Landstar Risk Management Claim Services in 2011 where he held the position of Director of Risk Management. He has been an officer and board member of the Jacksonville Claims Association since 2000.

Jeanette recently retired from Citizens. She began her career in the insurance industry in 1977 with USAA Cupertino, Ca. Upon moving back to Jacksonville, she worked with the commercial trucking company, CCIC, in the first party unity where she obtained her multi-line adjuster’s license. In 1983, she joined Hanover Insurance Company. Jeanette recently retired from Citizens with more than eight years as a Liability Adjuster. Jeanette has been a member of the JCA since 1980, she held the position of treasurer, and a volunteer of the golf outings for many years.

Cindy obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in 1987. She began her career with Allstate in 1988. Cindy holds the designation of Senior Claims Law Associate from the American Educational Institute and is a Panelist for Arbitration Forums. She has been an active member of the JCA for several years and served the office of Treasurer previously.

Natalie Johnson began her career with Allstate in 1977 and is currently an Unrep Staff Claim adjuster. She has held many positions within the company and worked in numerous disciplines during her career, including managing an Unrep Unit and Subrogation. She transferred to Jacksonville in 2002. She holds the designation of Senior Claims Law Associate from AEI and is a Panelist for Arbitration forums. She has been an active member of the JCA for several years and has served on the Board of Directors

Peninsula Insurance Bureau
Elena Rojas began her career in 1998 with American Surety Insurance Company. She held several positions before transitioning to her current position as an Account Manager at Peninsula Insurance Bureau. Her biggest accomplishment includes overseeing the CAT Operations during Hurricane Season 2004 while working at Sunshine State Insurance Company. She organized and coordinated day-to-day operations. In 2005, Ms. Rojas was hired by QBE where she worked for 10 years handling Residential, Commercial Property, General Liability, Auto claims, including moderate Bodily Injury claims. In the spring of 2014, Ms. Rojas was then hired by Cypress Property & Casualty. She was tasked to develop the Subrogation Unit, she implemented process & procedures. She provided technical guidance & training to personnel on best practices to promote the company’s cultural vision. She established a Vendor Management Program to track efficiency. Additionally, she designed a monthly newsletter which created transparency, awareness and motivation to meet the company’s recovery objectives.

Kerlin Claim Service LLC
Heather began her career in the insurance industry as a secretary for a local claims office. She obtained her adjuster’s license and has been in the casualty business for many years with various insurance carriers as a staff adjuster. In 2010, Heather began working as an independent adjuster doing property, auto and general liability claim investigations with Kerlin Claim Service. She has been an active member of the JCA for many years and her personal involvement with the JCA Golf Outings have helped to make them very succes

Ed received his Bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville University in 1991 and his law degree from The Cumberland School of Law in 1995. His practice areas include workers’ compensation, longshore and harbor workers’ compensation, and other injury and employment related litigation. He has been a member of the Florida Bar (Workers’ Compensation Section) since 1995, and is currently a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association (Workers’ Compensation Section). He is a founding member of the E. Robert Williams Inn of Court, and has served on the Statewide Board of Directors of the Friends of 440 Scholarship Organization. Ed is a member of the Florida Bar Association. His bar memberships also include the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida. He has lectured at various seminars, including continuing education classes for workers’ compensation claims professionals.

Mona is a claims adjuster with Swifft Insurance who will be opening a new office in the Grand Park Area across from the Avenues Mall in Jacksonville, FL. She is a volunteer with the American Red Cross. She also teaches summer safety and fire prevention to children in private and public schools as a volunteer. Mona most previously handled marketing with Restore24 which is a private and family owned business. She has been an JCA Member and Committee Chair for several years.
