Claims Quality Assurance and Training Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for managing the Claims Quality Assurance and Training programs. Quality Assurance involves auditing claims to assure accurate coverage analysis, investigation, valuation, reserving, and disposition of claims. Claims Training involves all Claims specific training of both staff and independent adjusters. This position supports the Claims Organization in achieving excellence in service quality and claim resolution, in accordance with State and company guidelines. The Quality Assurance and Training Manager assists with the development of business processes and training for same in response to quality results. The position mandates successful completion of all requirements of Fundamentals Claims School, which includes obtaining an overall passing score.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Manages activities and personnel of the Claims Quality Assurance and Training department including training, development, mentoring, counseling, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Works with and supports the Claims Organization for quality assurance and training needs.
- Communicates effectively with internal and external Claims partners, Corporate Training, Underwriting, and Human Resources.
- Administers the Claims Quality Assurance Programs.
- Develops action plans and implements training for quality improvement strategies.
- Oversees effective closed claim file audit review program, reinspection review program, and other quality assurance practices.
- Assists in identifying, monitoring and analyzing quality measurements; conducts trending analysis; identifies leakage; and prepares reports for Claims leadership.
- Provides feedback based on claim quality review results and makes recommendations for improvements to Claims Management.
- Conducts and/or participates in feedback sessions on an on-going basis with Claims management, staff, and external business partners.
- Identifies training opportunities based on claim quality review results.
- Oversees the development and implementation of process-specific, competency-based Claims specific education programs.
- Oversees the creation of training material and presentation of training sessions for Claims staff and external business partners.
- Leverages technology and other resources to achieve greater efficiency and improved results in both quality assurance and training programs.
- Assists management in negotiating and executing contracts for quality assurance and training products and services as necessary.
- Keeps current on industry activity and trends.
- Participates and contributes as an active member of the Claims Organization.
- Assesses quality results for external business partners involved with handling Citizens’ claims.
- Participates in Catastrophe planning and response, including Catastrophe Orientation.
- Creates and effectively manages department budget.
Required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership/managerial skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of property and casualty claims practices.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively manage departmental budget.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

- Knowledge of Xactimate property estimating programs and Xactanalysis.
Required education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field with skills transferable to insurance OR equivalent years in college education and experience relevant to position.
- Extensive Property and Casualty Claims experience, to include five years of hands-on claims handling experience, three years in a supervisory/managerial role, three years in Property and Casualty claims training, and three years in a Property and Casualty File Quality Assurance and Estimate Reinspection program.
- Active Florida Adjuster license (620 or 644) - Appointment Required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years experience in a Property and Casualty File Quality Assurance and Estimate Reinspection program.
- 5 years experience in Property and Casualty claims training.
- 5 years supervisory/managerial experience.
- Insurance designation (AIC, CPCU, etc.)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the ability to be physically mobile and operate a motor vehicle. Ability to sit, hear and converse over the telephone, and key frequently on a computer. Position may require occasional overnight travel including catastrophe response.

This professional will perform a wide range of diverse sales activities directed towards the development of insurance and non-insurance direct repair programs.
The primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Creating new insurance mitigation and repair programs by researching and identifying national, regional and/or local insurers who will benefit from Paul Davis Restoration services
- Cultivating relationships with key claims decision makers
- Growing, managing and maintaining insurance mitigation and repair program accounts
- Developing regional secondary or non-insurance accounts
- Attending regional trade shows
- Preparing effective presentations which assist in projecting the features and benefits of Paul Davis Restoration
Requirements include:
- Three plus years marketing and/or selling experience
- Well-developed understanding of marketing and selling processes
- Proven track-record of success
- Undergraduate college degree
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and/or restoration industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Claims Technical Coordinator

- Analyzes audit results and trends with appropriate reporting to management.
- Identifies training needs and coordinates with trainers to develop training curriculum.
- Provides statistical reports to management.
- Researches, analyzes and interprets policy language and state law as necessary.
- Documents appropriate systems with audit data and maintain databases as required.
- Keeps current on industry activity and trends.
- Participates in training and mentoring of strategic business partners and internal staff.
- Liaison with IT department.
- Effectively interacts with external business partners.
- Trains, mentors, and guides external business partners and less experienced staff.
- May participate in catastrophe response planning.
- Performs other essential duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Claims Management Guidelines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of estimating programs for evaluating and determining scope and repair costs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to evaluate detail with good analytical skills.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
- Ability to travel overnight
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years property claims handling experience.
- Active Florida Adjuster license (620 for all lines) appointment required within 90 days of employment.
- Within 90 days of employment, must successfully complete all requirements of Citizens Fundamental Claims School which includes obtaining an overall passing score.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Previous supervisory experience
- Prior experience with Xactimate
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, hear and converse over the telephone, and key frequently on a computer (2 or more hours per day). - Documents in a clear and concise manner all information that is relevant to a claim and runs reports as required.
- Keeps current on industry activity and trends and reports to upper management.
- Participates in training and mentoring of strategic business partners and internal staff.
- Conducts Open and Closed File Reviews to evaluate and document overall operational value.
- Develops and analyzes statistical reports.
- Properly delegates settlement authority and utilizes delegated authority effectively.
- Participates in Catastrophe planning, preparation and response (as outlined in Catastrophe Plan)
- Makes staffing recommendations to Director of Claims.
- Develops and maintains files on adjusting resources, engineers, salvors, and experts for claim investigations.
- Provides the Claims Director claims-related information as it relates to the financial impact of the Company.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Prior experience with computerized estimating programs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8 years progressively responsible experience in Commercial Property Claims, three of which in management

- CLCS (Commercial Lines Claim Specialist) designation
- Practical understanding of the Florida legal environment

Disputed Claims Specialist II
POSITION SUMMARY: The position is responsible for the acknowledgement, review, strategic planning and oversight of the disputed claims assigned from either mediation or appraisal. - Works with insured and external business partners regarding the handling and/or resolution of disputed claims.
- Recognizes the need for negotiation and prepares the planning strategy within their scope of authority.
- Calculates settlement payments accurately and effectively within specified time frame.
- Recognizes the need to escalate disputes that are in excess of their authority.
- Documents all information that is relevant to a claim and prepares reports as required.
- Updates the claims system to include documentation of all claim activities.
- Keeps current on industry activity and trends.
- Participates in catastrophe response, as needed
- Represents the company at mediations, appraisals or legal proceedings, as required.
- Demonstrates a solid working knowledge of both subrogation/salvage and SIU issues which may arise.
- Performs other essential duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDEGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of subrogation, salvage and the Special Investigation Unit processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership, organizational and negotiation skills.
- Ability to negotiate and reach agreed scope and cost of repairs with customers and vendors.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s degree in Business Administration or in field with skills transferable to insurance; OR Two years claims adjusting experience.
- Four years of Florida experience handling property claims.
- Active Florida Adjuster license (620) - Appointment Required within 90 days of employment as a contingency of continued employment.

- Previous computer estimating experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Five to seven years of experience handling complex and a wide variety of property claims.
- Experience in the construction industry
- Proficient in the use of Xactimate or comparable software estimating systems (like SBM Integra)
